Yay just can’t get enough of that picture lol.
HI!
I haven’t posted anything for awhile. Internet at work sucks because of the filter on blogs. There’s the pantry pc but it’s always taken when I have to chance.
Anyway, plenty things have been happening for awhile…at work. I haven’t seen my other friends for a long time. Some summer plans have been cancelled and some still on the go.
Me and Bryan will be turning to our first year next month. I will finally be a regular employee next month too.
I’m also planning to visit my Dad in Vietnam by the end of this year. Haven’t seen him since my college graduation. He’s gonna turn 47 in a couple of days. I was thinking of buying him Fables (the graphic novel, volume 1) but I don’t know how to ship it. He just called awhile ago. We haven’t talked since the holidays. He said he misses me. >3< My dad’s sweet. If you guys are planning to go on a vacation in Vietnam my dad’s working at Swiss-Belhotel Golden Resort and Spa. If you ever see a long-haired crooner, that’s my dad.
I’m hoping to save up to get to places because I’ll be turning 24 this year. In one of my childhood future planner project, I wrote there I’m going to travel and work when I’m 24. I hope I can get that right.
Pre-shift treat. Fact: I love cakes. I went to Kitchen’s Best across our building here at Global to have some happiness. And yes, yes, YES I was so happy.
I had Mango Royale and Steamed Cafe Latte. It was so cute when they designed the bear in the cup.
:3 MUY BEIN.
A lot of good things happened in 2011.
I went job-hunting that year. I realized that it’s tough to scour Manila to kickstart my working life. I always aimed for hospital work. But I landed somewhere else which is keeping me from feeling demoralized because of unemployment. I still have doubts about the fate of my career path. But right now, I’m having fun.
I met Bryan that year. We’re close to our first anniversary now. Excuse me for the mushiness, he’s the sweetest person in the world. All the other things are between me and Bryan. :D
I hope for a lot of things this year. It will only be possible if I do my part right. Per aspera ad astra 2012.
Among the things Bryan gave me, these are my favorite. The graphic tablet during my bday and Haruki Murakami 1Q84 for Christmas/New Year.
Unfortunately for the tablet, working has kept me far from it.
And oh, the teddy bear. :’D First thing he gave me which I keep by my bedside.
I’m testing myself. I’m trying to make myself read classic fictional poetry because I want to understand Dante’s The Divine Comedy. But first I start with Faust.
My pores are bleeding. I am self-inflicting this agony because I’m bored.
This exercise is a good way to make me sleep anyway.

I went to mercato to have a quick bite of this…
MOCHI ICE CREAM FROM MOCHIKO T~T they are so good. Bless it.
Mexican Chicken
This happened about a month ago and it never happened again…because they didn’t put it on the menu anymore.
I was gonna have dinner at our office’s pantry and I saw they had Mexican Chicken. I was thinking what’s the difference with this chicken and the other kinds of chicken they had before like Pesto chicken, Honey-glazed chicken, Buttered Chicken, Chicken Fillet, and etc.
My officemate asked the same question out loud.
I replied, “This chicken crossed the border.” She laughed.
I told my friends about this when we got together that weekend.
And they gave me more answers like
“The chicken’s name is Jose.”
“They’re fast runners.” “Why is that?” “To get past the border police.”
“Before the chicken died, he had a sombrero.”
and some others I can’t remember entirely anymore.

Here’s another one from one of my best buds who’s now in New Zealand.
One day he was shopping at Asian groceries for ingredients to make Lumpiang Shanghai/Chinese Springrolls.
Kuya Carlo: Hello, do you have rice paper?
Japanese clerk: Rice paper?
Kuya Carlo: Yes, rice paper! Do you have any?
Japanese clerk: Rice paper…
Kuya Carlo: The one used to wrap spring rolls.. *with hand illustrations*
Japanese clerk: Ah! Spring rolls!
Kuya Carlo: Yes! Spring rolls!
Japanese clerk pointing behind me: There.. there.. spring rolls..
Kuya Carlo: -_-‘
Turo ng turo sya dun sa Pringles… (Clerk kept pointing at a stack of Pringles)
And he further said that on another shop, a Japanese clerk said “Spring lols”.
